Madison, WI, August 7, 2025

More than 200 educators, community leaders and supporters attended the WEA Member Benefits Foundation Inc.’s third annual Swing For a Cause golf outing on Monday, Aug. 4. The event raised $45,000 to support school-based mental health programs in Wisconsin public schools.

“Each year, this event grows not just in attendance, but in impact,” WEA Member Benefits Foundation Executive Director Steve Goldberg said. “The funds raised will allow us to expand vital mental health support to even more school districts and continue helping students thrive both in and out of the classroom.”

The outing included 125 golfers and concluded with a dinner and program highlighting the impact of the Foundation’s work and celebrating student art.

Amy Ma, an incoming freshman at Middleton High School, was named the winner of the Foundation’s annual student art contest and received the Loeymae Lange “Best in Class” Award. Ma’s painting, A Moment in Time, was selected from more than 150 entries across the state. The award includes a $1,500 cash prize.
