Later this summer, from the 11 finalists, one will be selected to receive the prestigious Loeymae Lange “Best in Class” award, named in memory of Loeymae Lange, a cherished former art teacher at Cooper Elementary School in Burlington, Wisconsin. Through the generosity of her brother, Dr. Paul Lange, and his wife, June, an endowment gift has been established to honor Loeymae’s passion for the arts and her dedication to inspiring young minds. This endowment supports the monetary prizes awarded to our talented contest winners, ensuring that Loeymae’s legacy continues to flourish.
“The theme for this contest is both fascinating and inspiring. It challenges young artists to explore new concepts, experiment with different mediums, and push the boundaries of their imaginations,” said David Kijek, WEA Member Benefits President and CEO. “It’s wonderful to be able to recognize and reward talented students and teachers in Wisconsin, and we thank the Langes for the additional financial support to be able to do so. We hope other individuals will join in donating to the Foundation to help fund future opportunities for budding artists.”
